The philosophy of education that I believe in is the progressive philosophy. The progressive philosophy is a
student-centered philosophy. The teacher organizes the classroom around real world experiences, curiosity and the concerns
of the student. The teacher facilitates learning by helping students formulate meaningful questions and find strategies to
answers to their questions. The progressive philosophy is similar to my feelings
about teaching in that the students in the progressive classroom work and learn to cooperate in groups. Students are taught
to learn to apply themselves to real life problems. The progressive philosophy affects my teaching in that I will not spend
my time in the front of the classroom teaching students and students taking notes. I will instead be working with my students
as a team forming questions and doing research. This makes my classroom more students friendly and helps to develop cooperation
of students with one another and with me. The school would be one in which students
have resources available to them as needed, such as laptop, smart boards, books, and scientific supplies. The school would
have large rooms with tables or laboratory stations set up around the rooms. There would be lots of students in groups performing
different experiments. The students would be allowed to have a lot of group discussion.
I believe that every student should be included in the classroom
no matter what his or her background. I will include every student in the classroom in group discussions. I will allow the
students that are from different the other students to tell the students about their heritage. I will treat every student
in the classroom equally. I will design my classroom around the interests of my students. I will change my teaching styles
as I teach to keep the students in the class engaged. I will use different teaching materials in the class the engaged.
Teachers are ethically responsible for the happiness of the students. Teachers are ethically and legally responsible
for preventing and reporting bulling. Teachers are ethically responsible for reporting suspected physical, sexual, or verbal
abuse to a student. Teachers have the legal responsibility to teach student the material that is required by the administration.
Teachers are legally responsible for the safety of their students while they are in the classroom. They are also responsible
for supervising their students. Teachers are legally responsible for to follow copyright laws and any other laws covering
plagiarism. Teachers are legally required to respect student’s constitutional rights. Teachers are legally required
to respect students religions and lifestyle.
My number one value is to but your family first. I think everyone
should be a faithful and trusted friend. Being honest is very important. You
should always be concerned with the wellbeing of other people and with the environment. My religious believes have beliefs
have a big effect on my view of what a good teacher is. I believe that a good teacher should treat students equally and that
they should all be treated equally.
I wish to teach because I wish to make a difference in the world. I want to motivate students and help them
find their passion in life whether it is the subject that I will be teacher or if it is in another subject. I want to teach
agriculture because I really enjoy agriculture and horticulture. I enjoy teaching and have had experience teaching in the
past. Ever since I was a young child, I have always been teaching other people. For example as a child, I taught my little
sister to read. I want to teach high school because high school is when students decide what they want to be in life. I think
that teaching is a huge responsibility. I also want to become a FFA advisor. Being a FFA advisor and being involved in FFA
activities is a huge part of being an agricultural education teacher. I have been involved in FFA for five years and I really
enjoyed being involved in all the different activities that the FFA had to offer. I think it will be fun to get other students
involved in all of the different opportunities to that I had when I was a in high school.
