In every classroom, there always is diversity.  Every student in the classroom has different interests and hobbies.  During our grap bag activity, I discovered that my life was very different from some of the students in the classroom. For example, some of the students are getting married this year and some already have children. This changes the priorities and time that they have.  I think that teachers should sometimes consider student’s home life. Students may not be able to attend after school activities due to responsibilities at home.  I think that knowing that every student in the classroom is different helps you to understand that sometimes one student’s best is not always, what another student could achieve.  I think that every student in our classroom has different interest and some shared interests. During the grab bag activity, some students in the class knew many things about famous shooters and anglers but I did not. I think diversity in a classroom is important because without diversity students are learning what it is like when they have to get a job or go to college.  Including the cultural backgrounds of students in classroom discussion and studies is very important in developing a since of oneness in the classroom. Having group work happen with random groups can help students develop not only cooperation between different groups it can help students build an understanding of one another.
